Our Philosophy The intent of the Waco High School Girls’ Athletic Training Program is to provide the highest standard of health care possible for home and visiting student-athletes while also providing an educational environment for the development of student athletic trainers. While providing quality healthcare to the student athletes at Waco High School, our student athletic trainers obtain the knowledge base and skill development required to continue their services at the collegiate level. It is our goal that every one of our athletic training students continues on to college and pursues a degree in athletic training or whatever else they desire. The staff athletic trainer responsible for the Girls’ Athletic Training Program is Jessica Haines, LAT, ATC. Jessica has been an athletic trainer at Waco High School since the Fall of 2007. This means we are responsible for “fixing” athletes when they are hurt. An athletic training student should be a compassionate, hard working, dependable, and mature individual. They must also be willing and ready to learn new things. As an athletic training student they will be taught first aid and taping/wrapping techniques. They will also learn basic anatomy.
