The Waco High Boys Soccer team donated over 100 canned/non-perrishable items to the Food for Family Drive. Enjoy the pic. Monday Night Madness Looking for a good time on Halloween??? Well head up to the competition gym here at Waco High School this Monday, October 31st @ 6:00pm! The Boys and Girls Basketball Teams will be hosting their kickoff event, Monday Madness! It's always been a tradition in basketball and we need as many people to come pack our gym to support these hard working athletes! We will have a slam dunk contest, 3 point contest, and scrimmages. Accompanying the contest we will have our one and only "DJ Batman" for 104.9 THE BEAT getting everyone pumped up for this year's basketball season. He will have T-shirts to give out and prizes. Also, if you come dressed up in your Halloween costume we will have a contest for the best dressed and prizes to give away! THIS EVENT IS FREE! You won't want to miss out! Ask any of the basketball coaches for details and/or if you have questions. Thanks and hope to see everyone there!
JV Boys Cross Country Capture 8 First Place Medals Wednesday, Oct 19th - The Boys Cross Country team traveled to Aquilla for a meet. The JV Boys took first place with medalist being: Jose Umansor, Manuel Hernandez, Arturo Quintero, Rogelio Lorenzo, Aaron Balderas, Mark Phillips, Nathan Wells and Alexander Nguyem. The Varsity Boys Captured 3rd place with medalist being Ty Sanchez and Lorenzo Loredo. Congratulations to these young men and their accomplishments. Our District meet will be next Wednesday, October 26.
Pflugerville Cross Country Meet - Friday September 16 The following cross country athletes will be competing Friday Sept. 16th in the cross country meet in Pflugerville. Wish them luck as they Run for the Pride.

click image for larger view back to topWaco vs. Killeen Ellison Freshmen - The freshmen football team lost to Killeen Ellison 20-23 Wednesday night. Scoring plays came on a DJ Scott TD pass to Sylvester White. DJ Scott also ran for a 3 yard TD run and threw for another score which was a 25 yard TD pass to Kylen Robinson. Guidelines Waco High Volleyball The JV Lady Lions volleyball team traveled to the Robinson Tournament for pool play on Thursday and ended the evening winning 2 of 3 matches. It was a slow start to the afternoon and the ladies dropped the first match vs Academy 11-25, 13-25. They fought back in their next match of the afternoon against Reicher and won in 3 sets, 21-25, 25-16, 28-26. By far, the best match of the day came against Rosebud-Lott. With some TERRIFIC team effort, the Lady Lions were victorious 25-16, 25-19. Please be sure to tell these ladies congratulations on their wins and wish them luck as we take to the court again on Saturday for bracket play in the Robinson Tournament. Junior Varsity: The JV football team suffered a 41-20 loss at Copperas Cove. Christian Sims scored twice on a 65 yard run and a 65 yard screen pass. Vincent Minor caught a two point conversion pass from Trayhnam Moore. The JV Football team will play their next game at home on Wednesday vs. Killeen-Ellison at Paul Tyson Field. Freshmen: The freshmen football team got off to a strong start with a 31-0 victory over Austin High. Key plays came from DJ Scott, with his 70 yard interception return for a touchdown. Kylan Robinson also returned an interception for a TD from 60 yards out. Dionte Sullivan led the offense to a score with a 8 yard TD run. The special teams were led by Jason Diaz with a 27 yard field goal. The freshmen team will play again at Paul Tyson Field next Thursday night against Copperas Cove. Junior Varsity: The JV Football team started off the season with a 22-0 victory over Austin High. Khari Powell and Christian Sims scored on runs of 26 and 50 yards to lead the Lions ground attack. Devion Green caught a 16 yard touchdown pass from Trayhnam Moore for the other score. Vincent Minor and Powell scored on two point conversions. The defense held Austin out of the end zone and twice stopped the Maroons inside the 10 yard line. Emanuel Washington and Adrian Chapman had interceptions for the Lion defense.
