The following information is specific to Mountainview Elementary.  For Waco I.S.D. policies or other district wide information, please read the  Student Code of Conduct and Student Handbook..  

• School hours are 8:00am - 3:15pm.  We encourage your child to arrive between 7:30am and 7:50am.  Please use the circular drive on the north side of the cafeteria on Mountainview Street to drop off or pick up students.  Be sure your child is ready, backpack and lunch box in hand, when it is their turn to exit the car.  Staff will be available to greet you and your child.  Students will be directed to the cafeteria until 7:50am. 

• If you would like to park and walk your child inside, please do so in the visitor parking spaces of the new drop off area or on Bishop Drive.         

• Mountainview offers free breakfast to any student.   If your child plans on eating breakfast in the cafeteria, please be sure they are at school before 7:40 so they can finish eating before the 7:50 bell dismisses them from the cafeteria.

• Be mindful that students must be in their classroom by 8:00am in order to be on time.  If your child arrives after 8:00am, they will be required to obtain a tardy slip from the office.  All tardies are unexcused.  

• Please notify the office if your child will be leaving with someone different with a note at least one day prior to the change.

• Parents are encouraged to visit our campus as often as they are able.  For security purposes, please be sure to sign in each time you are on campus.  Visitor badges will help our faculty and staff know you are volunteering or observing. 

• Several times a year our students have activities both on and off campus that you may wish to attend.  If you think you would like to help with activities such as class parties and field trips, you will need a background check.  This service is free to parents but does take two weeks to complete.  You may pick up a background check form in the reception area at Mountainview.

• We hope your child has perfect attendance each year, but if he/she should need to miss class, please call the  school at 772-2520 or email Mrs. Collander  the day of the absence and send a note upon returning to school.  

• You may pay for lunch in the school cafeteria with either a check or cash.  You can pay online and manage your child's cafeteria expenses by registering  at  ParentOnline.  

• An after school program run by the YMCA is available for students in grades PK-4 from 3:15 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. daily. The students receive a snack, have homework or reading time daily, and participate in games, activities, and arts and crafts. The cost is $30.00.
